Our Projects

This page aims to keep members and the public informed about the key issues currently being addressed by the BDCA. At our recent AGM in October, these topics were identified as the primary focus areas for the incoming 2025 Committee.

Village Voice - Buninyong & District Community News

Following the cessation of the Buninyong Community News in early 2022, the BDCA, in collaboration with the Community Bank and other partners, has been actively developing a cohesive communications strategy for Buninyong. This effort has included the reintroduction of a limited hard-copy newsletter. Moving forward, we are committed to refining its production, appointing an Editor, and enhancing the website to ensure seamless access and downloading of the publication.

Mt Buninyong Reserve

BDCA will participate actively in planning issues as they affect Buninyong. BDCA convenes a group of community members to meet with Council re maintenance and improvements to Mount Buninyong.  Darren Bowden is the BDCA Committee representative.

The De Soza Park Masterplan will be reviewed and presented to the next Council for adoption in 2025.  BDCA will participate actively in consultation and planning processes involved.

RV Friendly Town

BDCA Members Judy Wilson and Brad Mahoney initiated a project to establish Buninyong as a Recreational Vehicle (RV) Friendly Town. Judy and Robert Elshaug are continuing to work with Council Officers to see this come to fruition.

BDCA is represented on a working group established to achieve safer traffic flow through Buninyong, especially as this might apply to heavy vehicle traffic and pedestrian safety.  Robert Elshaug has been the long-standing BDCA representative on this group.
